Power failure closes down council's headquarters

A power failure has forced Dundee Council to close its headquarters for a second day.

The power outage also affected the council's IT systems, email and website.

The council said counter services for the public have reopened today, best the rest of Dundee House will be closed while emergency systems are fully reinstated.

A council statement said: 'IT services, including the council website, partner websites and email, have been restored following disruption earlier today.

'Everything possible continues to be done to ensure council services are maintained, but some short-term issues may arise so please bear with us.'
