Pegler Yorkshire

Leading plumbing and heating solutions manufacturer, Pegler Yorkshire, has announced it is the first UK manufacturer to receive WRAS approval on its range of Heat Interface Units.

WRAS is the industry standard for UK approved water fittings that are compliant with the UK plumbing regulations. All products are approved by UK Water Suppliers using the performance requirements set out by the Secretary of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Climate control market manager for Pegler Yorkshire, Sindar Singh, commented: “We are delighted to be the first manufacturer in the UK to gain WRAS approval on our complete Heat Interface Units. Gaining WRAS for our Meibes range of HIUs demonstrates our commitment to provide high quality products and solutions to the UK plumbing and heating industry.

“It is Pegler Yorkshire’s policy to ensure all products meet and surpass exacting standards, including WRAS, which provide that all important third party approval, and gives our customers peace of mind knowing that Pegler Yorkshire is a name they can trust and rely on.”

The Meibes range of HIUs are designed to meet the needs of UK systems and applications and, whilst the market will continue to have bespoke units to suit the individual projects, Pegler Yorkshire has developed specific solutions for more repetitive applications types forming part of its climate strategy to improve building performance.

The Meibes units in particular are designed to go the extra mile with features that promote high engineering and reliability. All benefit from a patented Proportional Modulating valve that intelligently prioritises the requirement for domestic hot water over heating, in a similar way to a combi boiler. They operate on a ‘no demand no flow’ basis which minimises the demand on the main network, reduces energy consumption and ensures the apartment is not over heated.

The Meibes HIU range benefits from a number of different models to suit a variety of applications, which means that choosing the right system just got a whole lot easier. The comprehensive range comprising; Indirect, Direct and Indirect for Cylinder Systems, ensures they can be used with a wide range of configurations. And, benefit from additional features such as fix rails for faster installation, heat meters for accurate measurement of heat energy use and data extraction.

Sindar concluded: “Our products are continuously tested to meet stringent performance requirements and we are pleased that it’s not only our individual components that have gained WRAS approval but the complete Meibes unit.”

Jason Furnival, Approvals & Enquiries Manager commented: “WRAS Approval is the best way to demonstrate compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations or Scottish Byelaws as it is granted directly by representatives of the water suppliers and is therefore accepted by every water supplier in the UK. Any water fitting, which when installed, will carry or receive water from the public mains water supply in the UK, must comply with Water Fittings Regulations and Scottish Byelaws. These require that a water fitting should not cause waste, misuse, undue consumption or contamination of the water supply and must be ‘of an appropriate quality and standard.

“It ensures that, provided the product is installed or used with any conditions placed on the approval, your customers are installing a fitting/material that complies with the Water Fittings Regulations and Scottish Byelaws and have therefore met their legal requirement.”
