Parkonomy.com

Parkonomy.com, the innovative online parking technology start-up is partnering with District Enforcement to develop and improve the car parking experience for customers across the UK.

Operating in several locations, District Enforcement works closely with car park owners to prevent vandalism, discrimination and misuse by enforcing their ticketing solution. The partnership is using their combined services and technology to simplify and improve car parking experiences for UK operators and consumers.

Parkonomy.com is a technology-led, consumer-facing car park search and pay website which enables customers to book and pay for their parking online. Built with car park operators and owners in mind, Parkonomy.com has taken the basic industry model of the booking platform and enhanced it significantly by offering free listings to car park operators and owners alongside simple access to, and management of, their site information.

By enabling monitoring, interaction and real-time changes to tariffs and other information displayed on the website by operators and owners, Parkonomy.com is able to offer a free, flexible and advanced approach to car parking automation – and at no cost to the owner/operator.

One benefit of using Parkonomy.com is that car park owners don’t have to pay for their services. This enables car parks to provide their booking and payments through Parkonomy.com’s website with no need for pay and display machines, delivering a cashless parking experience in real time which is saving car parks money and ultimately reducing the risk of vandalism. District Enforcement provides signage, tickets and training to enable employees of the car parks to issue the tickets themselves and, using their existing handheld devices, electronic white-listing enables local staff to accurately identify parking which has not been paid for.

There are currently four locations that are operating using the combined services of Parkonomy.com and District Enforcement, all of which are listed on Parkonomy.com’s website. These are: Wytham Estate in Oxford; Dorney Lake in Windsor; Beach Green and Widewater in Shoreham-by-sea. Dorney Lake is a modern world-class rowing and flat-water canoeing centre with two car parks on site, both of which have removed their Pay and Display machines to enable customers to pay for their parking solely through Parkonomy.com’s website.

Both District Enforcement and Parkonomy.com are members of the DMUK (Disabled Motoring UK) so they are working together to help improve disabled access and parking spaces for blue badge holders. The two car parks in Dorney Lake offer continuous free parking for blue badge holders.

District Enforcement’s managing director, Dyl Kurpil is very supportive of the way Parkonomy.com operates. He said, "Working with Parkonomy.com has promoted the services we offer to another level. The ease of setup, customer experience and accessibility all contribute to a more attractive provision for the motorist. I would have no reservations recommending Parkonomy.com to anyone looking for professional and customer-focused services."

Jim Harrow, Head of Business Development at Parkonomy.com is also very excited about the partnership. He said, “District Enforcement is a successful, well-respected company tackling the common issue of car park abuse in the UK and Parkonomy.com is really excited to be working with them in various locations. By combining our services in locations such as Dorney Lake, we have already been successful in simplifying the car parking experience and improving the system for car park users which is already showing through the number of bookings and repeat bookings made.

This partnership has already seen a number of advantages for both companies. District Enforcement is able to see which motorists have paid for parking almost instantly, which is helpful in the process of issuing tickets and preventing car park abuse. Parkonomy.com’s platform is highly flexible and can be moulded around the company’s own model to ensure District Enforcement get the most out of using their services; something District Enforcement is very impressed with.
