Essex threatens legal action over reorganisation

Essex CC is looking to mount a legal challenge to the Government's decision to reorganise the county into five unitary authorities.

The council had backed proposals for the county to be divided into three unitaries and questioned whether the chosen model meets the guidelines laid down by ministers at the start of the process.
