The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman has called for it to be granted further powers to close ‘accountability gaps'.

As part of a Triennial Review, the Ombudsman reported the number of cases handled has increased, dominated by Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), adult social care and homelessness services.
