London mayor, Boris Johnson, has joined forces with some of the UK’s largest companies to launch a £3m fund to help small businesses affected by last month’s riots.
The High Street Fund has been backed a range of firms, including Capita and Deloitte, and will provide grants for small businesses, which were damaged or, in some cases, destroyed during the disturbances.
Birmingham City Council leader, Cllr Mike Whitby, said he looked forward to the fund playing an important role in the regeneration of his city centre.
