Local government seeks SEND deficit clarity ahead of Budget

Local government has called for clarity on deficits arising from special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) services in next week's Budget.

Councils remain in the dark over what support they will receive to pay off overspends up to March 2028, when Whitehall will take over costs.
