Hoteliers in Liverpool have backed plans to introduce a £2 overnight visitor charge.

The change to Liverpool’s Accommodation BID Levy will come into effect on 1 June 2025 on hotels or serviced accommodation with a rateable value of £45,000 or above.

Harry Doyle, Liverpool City Council’s cabinet member for Culture and Visitor Economy, said the move was a ‘positive step’ on the path to creating a ‘sustainable Tourism Tax’.
