Limehouse ward faces poll re-run

Council elections in a Tower Hamlets ward may have to be re-run after accusations of ballot fraud. Conservative candidate, Pennie Clarke, claims she and other residents had their ballots stolen. The solicitor said she would make a formal application for the election to be re-run in the Limehouse ward. The council said it had not been notified of a petition. Meanwhile, Birmingham City Council is supporting a challenge to an election result. A BNP candidate was declared the winner in the Kingstanding ward, but a recount found she should have come third, and Labour should have won.
