Liberty Charge has invested in three director-level appointments to drive its vision to accelerate the installation of public EV charging infrastructure, and the adoption of more sustainable modes of transport by both businesses and consumers.
Matt Croucher joins in the newly-created role of EV services director, Amanda Pun in another new role as legal director, and Perran Moon as chief marketing officer.
Matt brings extensive experience in planning, including as the Zero Emission Mobility lead at WSP. His experience in the EV sector stretches back to the industry’s early years in 2009, across a wide range of projects within the public and private sectors.
Matt says that although EVs are just one part of the sustainable transport story, they’re an essential element of how we move to Net Zero: 'My primary focus is to grow the number of charge points through collaborating with local authorities, working closely with all stakeholders to understand their needs and the best solutions.'
Amanda Pun has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, where she draws parallels with where the EV charging industry is today: 'It’s an exciting time for the industry as it accelerates at pace to keep up with growing EV ownership,' she says.
'From a legal perspective, this provides a great opportunity to start from the ground up. It means collaborating closely with councils and industry to establish required outcomes, and doing so in the simplest ways possible – essential when working with the limited budgets and resources public sector organisations have available.'
With more than 25 years’ experience in the automotive industry, Perran Moon acknowledged that local authorities face significant challenges in facilitating the pace that is required in the EV infrastructure roll out: “Clear communication, in addition to an offering that removes all hassle associated with the funding, logistics and maintenance of EV charge points, will be vital in supporting local authorities to provide infrastructure that works for residents and local authorities, and not against them.”
Neil Isaacson, Liberty Charge CEO, reflects on how the appointments put Liberty Charge in an exciting position: 'These appointments show that we are absolutely committed to investing in the right experience, talent and genuine dedication to get more charge points in the ground – essential to inspiring EV adoption.'
The organisation’s mission is to pave the way for a zero-carbon future by providing all aspects of the necessary infrastructure, installation and ongoing service needed to create sustainable, publicly accessible EV charge points that are reliable, safe and easy for everyone to use.
