Monitoring officers should be allowed to withhold councillors’ home addresses from public registers to help tackle rising levels of abuse and hate, Smith Square has said.

A Local Government Association (LGA) briefing ahead of a 11 January Parliamentary debate on standards in public life urges ministers to amend the Localism Act 2011 to protect elected politicians.
