Birmingham City Council has called for Internet broadband connections to family homes to be installed at a cost designed to help young people bridge the digital divide.
Up to 2,000 Birmingham school pupils will embrace technology in their homes this month. They are part of the largest group of pupils in the country to be given a new laptop computer each to take home and keep.
