A new town council is to be created as part of local government reorganisation in Northamptonshire.
Kettering BC will vote on a reorganisation order at a meeting in April that would create a town council covering Kettering in April 2021, alongside the new North Northamptonshire authority.
It follows a community governance review that found 80% of responses in favour of the move.
Kettering leader, Cllr Russell Roberts, said: ‘Establishing a town council will ensure that the town of Kettering is effectively represented so that governance within the borough continues to be robust and capable of meeting future challenges.’
