Mouchel Parkman has won a five-year non-housing technical services contract with London Borough of Islington estimated to be worth £10 million.
The contract is due to begin on 1 April 2007 and includes an option for a two-year extension.
Mouchel Parkman will be responsible for maintenance management, design and contract administration and a variety of professional building surveying consultancy services for around 1,000 civic, commercial and educational buildings owned by the council.
As part of the contract, the Council’s non-housing technical team will transfer to Mouchel Parkman through TUPE transfer and a new property office will be established in Islington.
Colin Worboys, property sector leader at Mouchel Parkman said: "This is a great opportunity to re-shape the visible face of property services in the borough to meet the expectations of the 21st century customer and to create the facilities that teachers, schoolchildren and the public in Islington require.”
Mouchel Parkman’s property team provides similar services to councils in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Kent and Surrey. These types of services are also included in the company’s strategic partnership contracts with councils in northern England including 2020 Liverpool, 2020 Knowsley and the Impact Partnership in Rochdale.
Mouchel Parkman’s Highways business has an existing contract with Islington working with its parking projects team.
