The latest innovation from Traffic Technology Ltd is the lightweight and versatile Eco-Counter PYROEvo people counter, smaller and lighter than its predecessor.

The non-intrusive system uses a high-precision lens and passive infrared pyroelectric technology to detect the heat generated by the human body. Weather-resistant, the PYROEvo is available with housings designed to blend in with the surrounding urban network or natural environment. The sensor is self-calibrating and can be easily installed in a few minutes on any type of surface. Its high sensitivity allows the sensor to detect two passersby, even with a small 20cm gap between them.

• Precise detection in all weathers - rain, snow, intense heat and extreme cold

• Detects pedestrians, cyclists (including those travelling at high speed), hikers, skiers, riders and snowmobiles and more

• Waterproof

• AA battery operated, two year battery life

• Discreet and easy to install

• Robust and highly accurate

• Remote maintenance and upgrade

• Three different housings available – Pyro Box and Urban Post for the urban environment and Wooden Post for the natural environment

The counter includes user-friendly software to analyse the site, understand trends (such as peak hours and seasonal patterns) and share analyses with partners.

Richard Toomey, managing director of Traffic Technology Ltd comments, 'The PYROEvo is the ideal solution to capture and analyse people counting trends on sidewalks, shared paths, pedestrianised streets, urban trails and more.'
