Hull councillors strip Mandelson of High Steward role

Hull City Council members have voted to strip Lord Peter Mandelson of his honorary role as High Steward of Hull.

The move comes after Prime Minister Keir Starmer dismissed Mandelson from his post as the UK’s ambassador to the United States over his links to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The High Stewardship of Hull is a ceremonial position dating back to 1853.
