Government formally intervenes in Croydon

Ministers have moved Croydon LBC’s improvement and assurance panel to a statutory footing, meaning it can instruct rather than guide the council.

The panel, chaired by Tony McArdle, has been bolstered by the addition of Brian Roberts as member for finance and Pamela Leonce, taking on responsibility for housing.

Jon Wilson and Phil Brookes will continue as leads for adult social care and commercial and asset disposal.
