Birmingham City Council has saved £30m by awarding maintenance contracts for council housing to companies which have demonstrated quality and value for money. All new contracts will run to October 2015.
Elaine Elkington, the council’s strategic director of housing and constituencies, said: ’I am delighted by the £30m saving we made as part of the selection process for the new contractors, and I am committed to providing an efficient service for our tenants, while ensuring we get the best value for our money.’
