Knowsley Council ‘could face tens of millions of pounds' in equal pay claims, the GMB trade union has claimed.
The unison suggested the local authority's task and finish system ‘allows employees in male-dominated jobs to leave work once tasks are completed' but ‘around 1,000 workers in female-dominated roles are not permitted to do this and are required to remain until the end of their shift'.
