Former councillor rages at lack of accountability for Brum failures image

Senior officers and commissioners at Birmingham City Council should be held to account for their ‘failures' at the under-intervention local authority, according to a former chair of the authority's audit committee.

Fred Grindrod, who stood down as a Labour councillor at this year's local elections after eight years, said there had been political accountability with his party losing control of the authority.
