Seven counties are expected to be among a swathe of non-mayoral devolution deals being lined up by the Government.

Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Surrey and Warwickshire are all thought to be among those set to be offered the deals with devolution expected to receive a further boost in today’s Autumn Statement.

Two more mayoral deals – for Greater Lincolnshire and East Riding and Hull – are expected to be announced in Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt’s speech this afternoon, with two further ‘level two’ deals agreed for Lancashire, Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen, and Devon and Torbay.

The latter is set to go-ahead without Plymouth after heavy wrangling over the deal's details.

Mr Hunt is expected to suggest the further string of non-mayoral deals will be named soon.
