Ex-Birmingham boss to probe city project

Doncaster MBC has brought in former Birmingham City Council legal services director, Stewart Dobson, to lead an internal investigation into a controversial community project. Mr Dobson will lead the inquiry into the finances of the Glass Park community project, which has embroiled elected mayor Martin Winter, and is also being investigated by South Yorkshire Police. l Doncaster’s former deputy mayor Aidan Rave has announced he will be standing down from the authority after the May elections, and joining executive recruiter, Rockpools. Cllr Rave quit as deputy, citing a ‘lack of confidence’ in his mayor (The MJ, 23 February).
