Doncaster spent £165k on scandal-hit project

A scandal-hit community project run by Doncaster MBC’s elected mayor was given £165,000 of council taxpayers’ money. The former legal services director of Birmingham City Council, Stewart Dobson, has said in his interim report that the Glass Park project was given the cash over seven years, which included one individual payment of £55,000. Mr Dobson is leading an inquiry into the project, which has embroiled elected mayor, Martin Winter. The project is also still being investigated by South Yorkshire Police.
