Council leaders in the North West have reaffirmed their commitment to achieving a devolution deal despite election delay.

The announcement of the General Election means that the devolution deal involving Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Council, and Blackpool Council has been postponed.

The council leaders said they would continue working on the deal and would be ‘ready to conclude this with the new Government when it is formed in July’.
