‘Debt-tech’ collective Trustfolio is inviting Local Authority creditor teams to attend a free webinar to find out how they could follow in the footsteps of Birmingham City Council and others in transforming the way they process debt solutions to meet operational, commercial, and social objectives.

Webinar attendees will be offered a free trial of Trustfolio’s first-of-its-kind Creditor Debt Solutions Platform, which has been shortlisted in the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation (IRRV) Performance Awards 2022 ‘Excellence in Innovation (debt management)’ category.

The webinar, hosted by Trustfolio’s Creditor Services Director Lee Usher, who has worked across the credit and debt landscape for both private and public sector organisations, will discuss the key challenges facing Local Authorities in administering debt solutions such as Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs). Industry experts will be invited to share their views and insights and attendees can take part in an interactive discussion session.

Lee will then give a live demo of the Platform which provides creditor teams with a single view of their debt solutions portfolios, allowing them to securely automate many of the manual processes associated with the administering of debt solutions, while improving consumer outcomes. The flexible, user-friendly debt-tech tool enables simple, efficient, and compliant management of debt solutions in-house 24/7.

Using the latest technology, it also facilitates seamless digital communication and engagement with Insolvency Practitioners (IPs) and Debt Management Companies for collaborative, data-driven decision making. Creditors gain much greater oversight and performance management information to develop their understanding of complex debt portfolios for long-term improvement that goes above and beyond regulatory responsibilities to achieve the organisation’s overall objectives around recoveries and customer treatment.

Thomas Clark, Birmingham City Council, said: “We have been in talks with Trustfolio about how we could benefit both operationally and socially as a Local Authority from using its new Creditor Debt Solutions Platform for some time and have had the opportunity to input into its development. We believe it has the potential to transform the way we process debt solutions and are proud to be one of the first to put it into action.”

Lee Usher, Creditor Services Director, Trustfolio, added: “When we were creating the Creditor Debt Solutions Platform, we identified Local Authorities as a key beneficiary of this type of tool. It combines efficiency and security with social value for more effective and responsible debt resolution which supports the local eco-system for the mutual benefit of all. Now that we have the first few Local Authorities fully on-boarded and using the system, we’re excited to share the benefits, features, and outcomes with others.”

Trustfolio was founded by some the brightest and best leaders from across the consumer credit, debt advice, collections, insolvency, and fintech sectors with a shared vision to ‘enable better debt solutions’ for consumers using powerful, bespoke technology to empower rather than replace those working in the sector. It’s suite of unique digital solutions include the AdviceUK-backed Debt Adviser Support Portal, used by more than 800 advisers from more than 160 agencies. Trustfolio takes data protection seriously, utilising the latest blockchain system of recording information and API-driven technology.

Local Authority personnel with a .gov.uk email address can register for the free creditor webinar on 4 August 2022 here and find out more about the Trustfolio Creditor Debt Solutions Platform here.
