Manchester City Council’s leader has urged Whitehall to implement ‘simple changes’ to asylum policy to ease huge pressures on major urban centres.

Bev Craig wants the Home Office and Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) to push savings from shortened asylum notice periods into local support, and to improve housing advice provided to refugees by Government partners.
