Council’s pledge to keep car jobs in Coventry

Council leaders and officials at Coventry City Council have vowed to do ‘whatever it takes’ to ensure the survival of Jaguar Cars.
It came following news that parent company Ford is considering selling the firm, which employs 10,000 workers at sites in Coventry, Birmingham and Liverpool. Cllr Kevin Foster, cabinet member for city development, told The MJ the council has been in talks with company management: ‘We’ll do whatever it takes to ensure Jaguar’s future here.’
