Councillor wins £13.5m in lottery windfall

A city councillor who scooped over £13.5m in a lottery rollover has vowed to take his family on a Butlin’s holiday with his winnings.

Great grandfather Peter Congdon, 67, is a councillor at Truro City Council in Cornwall.

Despite becoming a multi-millionaire, Congdon said he still planned to take his family on a trip to Butlin’s in Minehead where he had been going for four decades.

 

The widower has three children, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He said: ‘As for the family holiday, we've been going to Butlin's for 40 years so this year won't be any different’.
