Council leader denies management changes are linked to police probe

The leader of Lancashire County Council has rebuked claims his plan to slash senior management posts was linked to his arrest as part of an ongoing police investigation.

Cllr Driver said the two-pronged motivation for the management overhaul was to save around £250,000 annually while also ensuring that Lancashire has a bespoke director overseeing the ‘most challenging’ service portfolios – such as adult social care and children’s services.
