Council laughs off this hilarious headline error

Aberdeen City Council has been left red-faced after a headline blunder on its in-house magazine won international notoriety.

While the magazine distributed to tenants normally touts the title Newsbite, a misplaced photograph on its latest issue seemed to change the masthead to 'Newsh!te'.

Global interest in the publication has seen Twitter users sharing photos of the front page in their droves.

A council spokesperson said the magazine had rarely achieved such a high profile.

'An unfortunate oversight in the production process for the front cover of the latest edition of Newsbite has focused a lot of welcome attention on this excellent publication!' they told The Press and Journal.

'The newsletter is full of useful information for city council tenants and we are delighted that so many people are now aware of it.'
