Local authority chief executives will receive a 3.5% salary increase backdated to the beginning of April after agreement was reached on this year’s pay award.

However, Unite refused to have its details included in the pay agreement circular for a third consecutive year as it pursues strike action in a number of councils as part of its strategy of disaggregated disputes.
