Commission blasts Birmingham for ‘lack of realism’ over savings
The Audit Commission has criticised Birmingham council leaders for a ‘lack of realism’ about the prospects for achieving more than £650m in savings over 10 years. In a report on the effectiveness of the partnership, the commission says: ‘Council officers are exceeded by consultants and the scale of business transformation work is increasing.’
