Collecting Food Waste with XL Bin

Collecting Food Waste with XL Bin image

Leafield Environmental, the award-winning manufacturer and designer of recycling and litter bins, have a brand-new Heritage XL Food Waste Litter Bin coming soon to help collect household food waste in residential areas.

With more and more local authorities now collecting food waste from households, there is the need for residents to take their food waste outside of their property to a communal recycling area.

The Heritage XL Food Waste Litter Bin standard black version can be made from up to 100% recycled plastic and can fit a 120L/140L or 240L standard 2-wheeled bin. The green aperture flap has been designed to keep vermin out and reduce odours on top of the unit. The bin will be easy to use and accessible to residents with a foot pedal operation, resulting to a hands-free deposit of food waste bags. A lid handle has been incorporated into the lid moulding and lid opening mechanism has been designed to allow lifting by hand if required.

For ultimate rigidity, the whole bin including the door is made from a rotationally moulded double skin construction. The front facing access door for collection has a lockable function. It has anti-fly posting ribs to all 4 sides of the bin to deter unwanted posters and graffiti. There is space for artwork on all 4 sides of the bin (A3 poster size).

Unlike metal products, MDPE products are maintenance free; they require no treatment or repainting and are easily cleaned. There is a moulded in chute to ensure all waste is fed into the bin liner to prevent waste build up around the wheeled bin.
