Brighton & Hove City Council has requested £15m of exceptional financial support (EFS) from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
A report to senior councillors next week said the one-off request for a capitalisation direction was ‘part of a strategy to fully fund service pressures going into 2026-27, protect and increase levels of reserves and provide sufficient time for savings to be delivered through the transformation portfolio'.
