Gloucestershire councillors have approved plans to build three new care homes over the next four and a half years thanks to a £57m cash injection.

Several potential sites have been identified for two of the homes, including a former GIS site, and a former care home and library site. Work is underway to find a third site.

Cllr Carole Allaway-Martin commented: ‘The needs of our older people are becoming ever more complex and we must make sure that we have the right facilities in the right locations for those who need the highest level of care.’
