Birmingham City Council has extended its repairs and maintenance contracts with Willmott Dixon Partnerships and the Mears Group, until September 2015. The building contractors will cover 40,000 homes, which range from high-rise flats to sheltered housing schemes.
Cllr Elizabeth Campbell, leader of Kensington and Chelsea, warns that the Government’s fairer funding plans could force London councils into cutting services.
