Budget: Cash bonanza not expected for councils image

Chancellor Rachel Reeves is expected to plough cash into public services in today's Budget – but struggling councils are not expecting a cash bonanza to come their way.

There will be cash for housing, expected in the low billions, but it is as yet unclear if a £10bn cash injection for the NHS – which comes with a commitment to transformation – will also be used to ease the pressures on social care.
