Birmingham boss Stephen Hughes has moved to reassure residents over the future of the council’s Big City Plan after the lead officer, Philip Singleton, announced he was leaving just a month after his director.
Mr Hughes, who has also been heading up the planning and regeneration directorate since Clive Dutton left a month ago said assistant director Waheed Nazir had the right skills set for the wider role.
