What more do public sector organisations need today, other than more time and better processes to handle the amount of work activities and initiatives? These two fundamentals are what Verto, a long-time player in the work management space, have set out to tackle for local government organisations since 2008.
The history
Originally Verto was the result of a requirement from a UK Local Authority and we therefore have our roots firmly planted in the public sector. That initial challenge was to develop a single system to effectively manage the delivery of a range of complex projects and services. Managing projects and programmes comes with a lot of responsibility and keeping a team of people on top of their workload can be a challenge, especially in today’s hybrid working environment. The goal was to replace reliance on email as a place to store information, and minimise the time spent managing multiple spreadsheets of data, to allow organisations to see, and importantly report on, all their transformation projects and programmes from one place.
The future
Verto 365 is the latest iteration of the platform, which can now also be used in its entirety directly from within Microsoft Teams (Teams). Verto’s capabilities have since expanded into helping a wider section of the workforce handle day-to-day work tasks in the form of Verto’s Kanban-style Boards. Boards help to strengthen collaboration and support workforces of varying working styles such as remote or hybrid by encouraging the progress of tasks through to completion and showing all activities in a clear an organised way.
Now having the full Verto 365 Board experience embedded directly within Teams, the Microsoft platform has been re-imagined as much more than just a communication tool, as whole work activities can be arranged, stored and reported on from within the one system.
Verto 365 empowers workforces to achieve more by having the popular Microsoft platform perform as a single and complete work management station, instead of having to leave Teams, and navigate away, and login, to several different platforms to achieve tasks relating to one, single piece of work.
The benefits
Local Authorities shape themselves around the community they serve, so require the digital tools they use to match their working style. Verto understands what makes an organisation unique and therefore can be completely configured to operate within a certain set of processes and procedures.
As well as matching internal structures, the Verto 365 also aids the creation of internal culture and corporate governance by making the important aspects of work management, like providing clear tasks and identifying blockages in the progress of work, visual, quick to see, and simple to gather information on for senior managers and stakeholders.
Reporting is easier because the information held in Boards is consistent and in one place. No time is spent jumping from system to system to gather information in various formats. Instead, everything is logged and managed within Verto 365, so any reporting can be done fast. Without the need to move between platforms there is more time to maintain the flow of work and improve productivity.
The Verto 365 user experience (UX) within Teams is also emulated so organisations can experience a simpler transition when rolling out the new set of tools to staff. It’s set to empower workforces to achieve more by having the popular Microsoft platform perform as a single and complete work management station, and by using a Single Sign-on process, logins aren’t necessary after signing in once.
Try today
The Verto Playground is a Verto 365 trial option within Teams or a browser where users can test and learn by viewing sample boards, as well as being able to input their own work to get to know how the tools really work for them.
Or set up your own personal site with Verto Free, where you have up to three workspaces to use indefinitely from within Teams or via a browser window.
As a small and agile company, Verto are one of the first organisations to exploit the new opportunities that Microsoft’s deep integration abilities now offer, and by simply asking, “why not?”, we have re-imagined Teams as a fully functioning work management platform to bring ease and simplicity to organisations’, often complex, working practices.
