Councils in the West Midlands have been urged to increase their stake in Birmingham International Airport.
Seven councils have a combined 49% shareholding in the airport, but they could increase their control after infrastructure group Macquarie announced it wants to sell its 24% stake.
The chief executive of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, Jerry Blackett, has urged the councils to bring the airport back into public hands.
