A by-election might have to be repeated for a seat on Sandbach Town Council due to an administrative issue.

Labour candidate Colin Storey won the August by-election in the Elworth ward, but Cheshire East Council has said it was informed that the declaration was not delivered before a legal deadline, according to the BBC.

A notice of a vacancy has been published, and a second by-election will be held if the required number of requests for it to be held are received from voters.
