Wyre Council is considering a restructure of its management team in a bid to save more than £100,000 a year.
Under the proposals, the council would axe its two corporate director posts and reduce its heads of service from 12 roles to nine. The new structure would see three new service directors reporting directly to the chief executive, resulting in annual savings of £132,000.
Cllr Peter Gibson, leader of Wyre Council, said: ‘This proposal reflects a leadership development programme that has been going on within the council and I'm confident that the directors will leave a very experienced team in place, strengthened by a period of mentoring and support before the changes would be implemented.’
The council has already saved £3.4m from staffing and salaries since 2005 but needs to identify an additional £3m by 2018.
