North Yorkshire councillors are set to green light £126,000 to address a budget shortfall for the renovation of Whitby's Old Town Hall.

Initiated in 2023, the project to convert the town hall into an art gallery is partly funded by a £1m grant from the Government's Towns Fund, with North Yorkshire Council also contributing.

The executive committee is expected to sign off on the funding today, following tenders exceeding the initial budget.
