Warrington Council urgently needs to get to grips with its complex and risky financial situation, the Local Government Association has said.

Because the council, which has a debt burden of £1.8bn, relies on investment returns it has ‘a very different risk profile to many other local authorities', the umbrella-body has pointed out in a peer review.
