Wandworth sets country's lowest coucil tax
People living in a Band D property will pay a combined council tax of £682. This is made up of £372 for services provided by Wandsworth Council and £310 for the Mayor of London.
Last week Audit Commission named Wandsworth as one of only two councils in the country to have scored maximum marks in the use of resources assessment for value for money and financial management.
The aggregate figure of £682 for a Band D property is the amount payable by two person households in the majority area of the borough.
Deputy council leader Maurice Heaster said: 'In a recession there’s nothing better a council can do for its residents than keep tax bills down.'

The council tax amounts were set at last night's meeting of the full council (March 10.)
