Trust in councils plummets following pandemic image

Public approval of councils has reached record lows in key areas, according to the latest polling for the Local Government Association (LGA).

The latest satisfaction survey found residents’ trust and sense of value for money have slumped to their lowest levels since polling began in 2012, having reached record highs in the early months of the pandemic.

Asked whether their council provided value for money, 42% of respondents agreed and 24% disagreed.
