Flitwick Town Council has called on Nadine Dorries MP to ‘immediately vacate’ her seat to allow for a by-election.
Ms Dorries announced last month that she would stand down after she was denied a peerage. However, she is yet to formerly resign her position.
The council has written to the Conservative MP saying she had not maintained a constituency office for a ‘considerable time’ and had not held a surgery in Flitwick since March 2020.

It accused her of focusing more on her television and writing career, and ‘political maneuvers to embarrass the Government’.
‘Our residents desperately need effective representation now, and Flitwick Town Council calls on you to immediately vacate your seat to allow a by-election,’ it said.
