Councils can ‘renew democracy from the grassroots up,’ a borough chief has claimed in a plea for local authorities to become more community-led.

Speaking today at think-tank New Local’s Stronger Things conference in the City of London, Test Valley BC chief executive Andy Ferrier said: ‘This isn’t about politics, it’s about community power.
