Scottish councils keen to explore further devolution

Scottish councils are keen to explore the potential of ‘enhanced local government devolution' but have expressed reservations about following the English model of regional mayors.

Those already involved in city region deal partnerships are understood to be keen to expand the collaborative work already taking place between councils around economic development, transport and housing.
