Reorganisation threat to district services

Services provided by district councils must not become an early casualty of local government reorganisation, a new report has warned.

The merger of districts that use different models for delivering key services risks creating a ‘postcode lottery' during the runup to forming unitary councils, warned the study for the Institute for Government.
